A: Gracias por tu tiempo. Cuéntame de los inicios de Espectro. E: ¡Hola! Gracias por darme el medio. Bueno, Espectro nació en 2014 como un proyecto prog-metal; luego, en 2015 mejoré mi PC, así que empecé a grabar con mejor calidad, de modo que Espectro se volvió un popurrí de shoegaze, blackgaze, post-rock, doom, etc. Hice un álbum compilatorio con ideas y canciones de 2014 y 2015. Entre noviembre de 2015 y febrero de 2016, grabé mi álbum favorito, Ofelia. Cambié mi sonido un montón en este álbum; canciones oscuras y tristes sobre la muerte de Ofelia y el duelo en general. Ese mismo año lancé otros dos trabajos: el álbum Suplicios y mi single Für Immer. A: ¿Cuáles son las influencias más importantes en tu música (sean o no musicales)? E: Mis referencias e influencias como solista y dentro de una banda pasan por Josh Silver de Type O Negative, Satie, Sunn O))), Boris; incluso Los Jaivas han contribuido a mi música. En lo relativo a artistas visuales: Gustave Doré, John Everett Millais; cuando veo su trabajo, básicamente pienso: "Quiero sonar como esta obra de arte". En cuanto a escritores y libros, Lavey fue una figura importante en mi manera de ver el mundo, pero hoy en día no sigo La biblia satánica como lo hice por algunos años de mi vida. El fantasma de la ópera y Crónicas vampíricas son trabajos muy importantes también, ese ambiente gótico. A: ¿Tu arte posee algún discurso político o espiritual? E: Como dije antes, Lavey influyó mucho mi vida. Después de leer La biblia satánica me volví muy cerrado respecto al mundo; "a quienes me han herido, les haré daño", "la estupidez es la peor de todas las enfermedades" y todas esas cosas, y de nuevo, como ya dije, ya no pienso así. Obviamente tengo algunas "heridas", pero sólo cosas sin importancia. A: ¿Qué tipo de relación tienes con la gente a la que le gusta Espectro y Cólera Records? E: Aprecio mucho a mis "seguidores"; sus palabras sobre mi música, su apoyo, etc. Del mismo modo, con Cólera Records estamos muy agradecidos a quienes compran nuestros lanzamientos. Este tipo de música –experimental, o como se quiera llamarlo– es un género difícil de vender, que la gente lo escuche, lo que sea, y debido a eso, todos los que siguen este tipo de proyectos son personas interesantes en alguna forma; no es la misma gente que se traga bandas de pop genérico. A: ¿Cuánto tiempo le dedicas semanalmente a crear música y a tu sello? E: Actualmente, estoy en una especie de viaje musical con Espectro, buscando un nuevo formato y sonido. Tengo nuevas ideas casi todos los días; la parte difícil es traducir estas ideas en algo concreto. Con Cólera estamos trabajando en algunos nuevos lanzamientos. Sólo eso por ahora. A: ¿Qué visión tienes sobre el futuro de la humanidad estos días? E: Preferiría no responder. Perdón. A: Para finalizar, ¿cuáles son tus próximos planes con Espectro? E: Estoy trabajando en una re-grabación de Ofelia. Como es mi primer álbum, lo amo, pero es un poco amateur. Quiero tomar las ideas que tenía en ese entonces y mezclarlas con nuevas ideas y sonidos; después lanzarlo en casete, CD, etc. ⧗

A: Thanks for your time. Tell me about the beginings of Espectro. E: Hi! Thanks for giving me the space. Well, Espectro was born in 2014 as a prog-metal project; then, in 2015 I upgraded my PC, so I started to record with a better quality, so Espectro became a potpourri of shoegaze, blackgaze, post-rock, doom, etc. I did a compilation album with ideas and songs from 2014 and 2015. From November 2015 to February 2016, I recorded my favorite album, Ofelia. I changed my sound a lot in this album; dark and sad songs about Ophelia's death and grief in general. That same year I released two other works: the Suplicios album and my single Für Immer. A: What are the most important influences in your music (either music-related or not)? E: My solo and band references and influences can be traced back to Josh Silver from Type O Negative, Satie, Sunn O))), Boris; even Los Jaivas have contributed to my music. As regards visual artists: Gustave Doré, John Everett Millais; when I see their work, I basically think: "I want to sound like this piece of art". As regards writers and books, Lavey was an important figure on my way of seeing the world, but nowadays I don't follow The Satanic Bible as I did some years of my life. The Phantom of the Opera and The Vampire Chronicles are very important works too, that gothic ambient, you know. A: Does your art have any political or spiritual statement? E: As I said before, Lavey influenced my life too much. After reading The Satanic Bible I became very close-minded about the world; "those who have hurt me, I'll hurt them badly", "stupidity is the worst of all diseases" and all those things, and again, as I said, I don't think like that anymore. I obviously have some "wounds", but only things with no importance. A: What kind of relation do you have with the people who like Espectro and Cólera Records? E: I appreciate my "followers" so much; their words about my music, their support, etc. Likewise, with Cólera Records we are really thankful to those who buy our releases. This kind of music –experimental, or whatever you want to call it– is a difficult genre to sell, to get people to hear, whatever, and because that, everyone who follows this kind of projects are interesting people in some way; it's not the same people who swallow generic pop bands. A: How much weekly time do you spend on creating music and on your label? E: Currently, I'm in a kind of musical trip with Espectro, searching for a new format and sound. I have new ideas almost every day; the hard part of this is to turn the ideas into something real. With Cólera we are working on some new releases. Just that for now. A: What's your vision on the future of humanity these days? E: I would prefer not to answer. Sorry. A: And to finish, what are your next plans with Espectro? E: I'm working on a re-recording of Ofelia. As my first album, I love it very much, but it is a bit amateur. I want to take the ideas that I had back then and mix them with new ideas and sounds; then release it on tape, CD, etc. ⧗
